Baby Sawyer | Las Cruces, New Mexico | Corpus Christi Newborn Photographer

I don't even know where to start with this sweet little girl! Awaiting her arrival was more anticipatory than my own children's births. Well, maybe not quite that much, but very close! I live in Corpus Christi, Texas and my brother and sister-in-law live in Las Cruces, New Mexico. About a 10 hour drive away from one another!

My hope was to be able to be there for Sawyer's birth to gift them a First Hours Session in the hospital. Now, because my sister-in-law, Jd, had a high-risk pregnancy, it was very possible baby would arrive early. As I planned my trip, she also started having contractions a good week before I even planned to leave and made a late night visit to the hospital when she thought she might be in active labor! Throw on top of all that, I was trying to schedule other sessions in New Mexico to fit around this precious baby girl, it made for an exciting trip. Well, little Sawyer held out for her auntie and I arrived a good two days before the scheduled induction!

One thing I love about newborn photography is getting to talk to the parents about their birth story because each one is so unique as is every beautiful baby. For Sawyer, I got to experience part of that with them in the hospital too. The labor was a long process and I know that Zeke and Jd were so thankful for the induction as Sawyer seemed to need a lot of help to get out, all probably due to her size! She came out at 9lbs. 9oz. and 21 and 1/2 inches long! I am so proud of Jd; she is one strong mama!

A few days later, I came into their home and completed a lifestyle newborn session with them and their precious blessing! Sawyer is only 4 days old during this session and as you can see, she doesn't look like a newborn!

I look forward to seeing Sawyer again on our next trip to New Mexico! She will already be 3 months old and I look forward to completing a Baby's First Year Collection with her to document all her milestones and changes! Praying God's blessings over Zeke, Jd, and Sawyer during this exciting time of growth and change!
