Planning your Session

Family is so important to me and at the center of my values.

I believe all families should document their love through photography. My goal is to capture images that reflect your unique relationship with your loved ones. I love to capture playfulness as well as serene, intimate moments. Here are a few tips I have to help you prepare for your family portraits.

1. Pick your outfits

Don't worry about matching but think about coordinating colors. I find the best look for portraiture is having at least 3 to 4 different colors in your family's wardrobe that all compliment one another. For some ideas, you can visit my pinterest page here.

3. Let the kids be kids!

"But my kid won't sit still for pictures" - Trust me, we've all been there. Part of capturing genuine family photography is working with rambunctious kids who are running away from me. That's ok! I promise you will love what we come up with. When the kids aren't having it, we will find a way to celebrate the chaos. Don't be frustrated, just smile at that crazy kid and know sweet moments will be captured!

2. Don't look at the camera

I focus on interactions between you and those you love. But don't worry, I won't just sit back and tell you to act natural (awkward!) I will guide you every step of the way towards a fun and relaxed session. Every family is unique and I want that unique relationship to show in every photograph!

4. Be open to the experience

Your session is much more than taking pretty pictures. Relax and let those real moments unfold. I want you to feel joy and comfort as you capture sweet memories with your loved ones!
